This chic take on Paraboot’s iconic men’s loafer, the Reims, features an exclusive black pony hair exterior. Inspired by the timeless Michael shoe, its originality lies in its sturdy shape, which creates a bold, masculine look. The Norwegian welt was traditionally used for mountaineering and work shoes; the origin of the name remains a mystery, but it has no connection with Norway. Either way, it’s a solid and flexible mounting technique that makes the shoe waterproof and re-soleable.
Paraboot is a 4th-generation business — it was founded in France by Rémy Richard. The name is a mashup of “Para” (the port they sourced their latex from) and the American “boot” that inspired Rémy early on.
