I met Armando at a dinner party and we became fast friends. His understated elegance shines in his life & his work. It speaks of his storied past in Africa, Europe, and the U.S. He is passionate. You can feel his urgency to highlight the rich history of West African, the grace of his life, and the energy of his NYC home. The kora is the instrument used to sing the voluminous histories of many tribes (like the Mandinka). It’s sound is a symbol. So too can be its aroma!
Together we built the fantasy of the kora’s fragrance – opening it up with rich amber mahogany draped in patchouli, papyrus, and vanilla. -D.S. (DAVID SETH MOLTZ, PERFUMER AND CO-FOUNDER, DS & DURGA)
