Designed in Spain, handwoven in Colombia by Wayuu artisans, and constructed back in Spain using 15th-century techniques, these espadrilles combine the best of Europe and Latin America in one special shoe. The toe features Guanábana striking hand-crocheted patterns (peep the jade stripe), the heel is soft suede, the midsole is braided jute and the outsole is rubber for assured traction. Heads up: these will feel tight at first, but the suede stretches out over time — we recommend choosing your normal size, or even sizing down if you fall in between two. Beautiful and comfortable, these espadrilles are a perfect choice on sunny days.
Guanábana’s boho-chic designs are the realization of founder Almudena Espinosa’s dream to make a lasting positive impact on artisan communities. Founded in 2005 and based in Madrid, the brand’s entirely handmade styles showcase both her Spanish heritage and the techniques of Latin America. Fun fact: the name is an ode to Almudena’s favorite fruit, also known as soursop.
